At the end of 2006 a surplus in the FreeBird funds was identified. It was decided that we would make donations to charities, specifically those involved with aircraft restoration and preservation projects. Given the international nature of FreeBird two charities were identified on either side of the Atlantic.
Subsequently we were please to make contributions to the following organisations:
USD1000 to Yankee Air Museum, Willow Run, Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA, for use in relation to C-47 44-76716/N8704
GBP500 to The Assault Glider Project, RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, UK.
